Organise an event during the Sustainability Week 2025 - Staff

The events in the Sustainability Week programme are all organised by staff and students at Lund University and Lund Municipality. If you are employed at LU or the municipality and are interested in organising an event, you can apply via our call for interest, linked below. On this page, you will also find tips on how to plan and create a successful and sustainable event.

Call for interest Sustainability Week 2025 (English)

Do you have an event idea for the Sustainability Week programme? Click here to fill in the call for interest - forms.office.com

The call for interest is open until 14 February.
If you are interested in any of the venues we can offer we urge you to fill in the call for interest sooner rather than later, since there are limited time slots.

External actors

All events during the Sustainability week are organised by employees and students at Lund University and Lund Municipality. As an external actor or organisation you can not apply to organise an event. If you would like to contribute to the programme, you can contact Lund University/Lund Municipality employees within your network for collaboration.

Tips and support

Lund University and Lund Municipality are jointly the main organisers of the Sustainability Week, on this page we have gathered information on how we can support event organisers, as well as tips on what you yourself can do.

Event structure and content

As organisers, you are primarily responsible for the content and structure of your event. However, our planning team is happy to act as a sounding board for developing ideas and event formats.

If you need help finding participants for a panel, a moderator, or are interested in collaborations beyond your own networks, we can assist with contacts.

When inviting external guests, we encourage you to choose individuals who can travel to Lund using a sustainable mode of transportation.

Promote your event

Each organiser is responsible for reaching their desired target audience and promoting their own event.

Suggestions for promoting your event:

  • Newsletters
  • Targeted email invitations within your own networks
  • On your faculty, department or research centre website
  • Put up posters at the university's own premises (remember to use the Sustainability Week logo)
  • Social media

In all promotion of your event, remember to state that the event is part of the Sustainability Week and refer to the overall programme.

Social Media

Use the hashtag #hållbaralund in social media posts.

Feel free to create a Facebook event for your event. Add Lund University Sustainability Forum (Lund University) as co-host to be visible on its event lists.

Graphic design, Images, and Posters

Use the Sustainability Week graphic materials for marketing.

Materials will be available for download here at a later date.

Overall Marketing of the Program

The Sustainability Forum at Lund University and the department Hållbar tillväxt at Lund Municipality are jointly responsible for the overall marketing of the week. It will be visible on buses, trains, billboards in Lund, and on social media.

Checklist for organising an event

A few things to consider when you start planning your event:

  • Topic: Which sustainability issue do you want to highlight and present during your event?
  • Purpose and objective: Why do you want to organise the event and what do you hope to achieve? To answer these questions will help you with the further planning of the event.
  • Target audience: Who do you want to reach? Lund residents, students, professionals, adults, children, etc. All events in the program are open to the public, but it’s good to have a target audience in mind during planning and promotion of the event.
  • Format: What type of event works best for your topic and audience? Workshop, panel discussion, seminar, exhibition, guided tour, etc.
  • Venue: Where do you plan to hold the event? Please indicate in the call for interest form if you need help with this.
  • Promote your event: The Sustainability Week is promoted as an overall event by us, but think about how you can reach your specific target audience and how you can promote the event for maximum exposure.

For questions, please contact the Sustainability Week coordinators!
